Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, hello guys, welcome to my blog. On this blog i will share about : Caption Text part 2 "Let's write !"

After reading some text captions from pictures/graphs/charts on Learning part 1, then now is the time to practice writing captions on some pictures provided and write 2 or 3 sentences

Practice 1: Look at the pictures below. Then match the caption with the picture.

⚫ Picture 1 :

⚫ Picture 2 :

⚫ Caption 1 :

Answer :
Picture 1 = Caption 2
Picture 2 = Caption 1

Can you of course match the images and captions provided? Good job! The pair is right, that means you already understand how to write text along with pictures. Now it's time to practice writing captions using your own language. Don't be discouraged if there are words you don't know English. You can view both print and digital dictionaries.

Pay attention to the steps to write text accompanying the image (caption).

TIPS TO WRITE CAPTIONS :
• Do not begin with the words a, an, or the Use present tense to describe action in a photo.

• Give readers information they cannot get from just looking at a photo

• A caption should complete the photo. The reader should not have to look at the story, but should want to look at the story.

• Write captions so they go from specific to general or general to specific. Don't begin a caption with names

• When identifying members of a group, write "from left," not "from left to right." "Above" and "pictured here" are unnecessary.

• Captions should not repeat information contained in the lead.

• Name people only if they are important to the picture

Examples of Captions

1. Example Caption on Identification Bar

In the article on BBC News that discussed the people with hidden protection from Covid-19, there was a picture of Princess Diana with a man who turned out to be a patient suffering from HIV with the words:

AIDS is primarily a disease of T-cells, which are systematically eliminated by HIV in patients who are infected by the virus.

The caption above means that AIDS, which is a disease of T-cells, is systematically eliminated by HIV in patients infected with the virus.

2. Example Caption on Cutline

In the picture above, several sentences are written as captions explaining who is in the picture and what they are doing, where the incident occurred when a riot occurred on Wednesday night, May 8, 2018 at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters Kelapa Dua, Depok. In the photo above it says:

Police officers' cordon off a road in front of the Police Mobile Brigade headquarters (Mako Brimob) in Depok, West Java, on Wednesday morning following a riot inside the Mako Brimob detention center. (Kompas.com/Abba Gabriellin)

The meaning of the caption above is that police officers fenced off the road in front of the headquarters of the police mobile brigade (Mako Brimob) in Depok, West Java, on Wednesday morning after a riot inside the Mako Brimob detention center.

3. Example Caption in Summary

From the image caption above it says: Passengers wearing protective masks and face shields queues for a public bus, following the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, at a central bus spot in Jakarta, July 27 2020. The health ministry reported 1,525 new cases and 57 deaths on Monday, taking the total number of infections and fatalities to 100,303 and 4,838, respectively.

The Ministry of Health reported on the day Monday, there were 1,525 new cases and 57 deaths, bringing the total infected and deaths to 100,303 and 4,838, respectively.

4. Example Caption on Expanded

It can be seen in this type of caption writing a more complete description, this type of expanded caption is a development from the previous caption, especially the summary caption.

From the picture above explains about the Slam dunk performed by basketball player John Smith.

5. Example of Group Identification Caption

In the example caption above: Members of an all-Black militia group called NFAC hold an armed rally in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S. July 25, 2020. A group of heavily armed Black protesters marched through Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, a Black woman killed in March by police officers who burst into her apartment. The text caption above describes members of an all-black militia group called NFAC holding a rally in Louisville, Kentucky, USA on July 25, 2020. A group of heavily armed black protesters marched through Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, a black woman who was killed in March by Police officers who entered her apartment.

In this example, the text is the same as the caption identification bar example, except that the subject is a group of people.

6. Example of a Caption Quote

In the example caption above it is written: Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration (Quote from: Thomas Edison)

Where the meaning of the text caption above is: Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent is sweat.

Examples of caption quotes are very easy to find on existing image media or social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and so on. Caption quotes have often been used to convey messages indirectly accompanied by pictures containing words of wisdom.

Caption:”losing Your way is the way to find it.”

explanation:
when we lose our way, that's where we find a way to find another way to achieve the same goal, it's not easy but it's a situation that forces everything to happen. always go slowly even though there are many rainstorms of obstacles.

Stick to our dreams even though it feels hard. If there is a road that has never been traveled and there is a road that cannot be crossed. never felt like this before, maybe it's the road to maturity. Convince yourself to believe that there will be a way out to all the problems they face, there will be a way when they are in doubt.
it is related to the fear of moving forward towards the next phase in life, namely adulthood. Over time, we understand that there are things we can't do and things we should. The difference between childhood and adulthood is the limitation in making decisions.

repeatedly inquired about which path they should take, repeatedly expressing confusion in choosing a path.

"Life is tough, and things don't always work out well, but we should be brave and go on with our lives."
